Chippewa Humane is home to ASAP-Animal Same Day Adoption Program
Certain animals are eligible to go home the same day you visit for adopters with approved applications.

Adoption appointments: Appointments are available for potential adopters with approved applications. There is no obligation to adopt at an appointment. These adoption appointments are a great way to spend uninterrupted time with our staff and your potential new pet to get all the information you need to make your decision about bringing your new friend home! You can also stop in on our open adoption days.

Pet adoption and rescue powered by Adopt-a-Pet.com

Adoption Rates

Every animal is unique. The appropriate pricing is listed In each animals bio.

What is included with my adoption?

  • Free exam at a local veterinarian chosen from our list of 26 participating providers.
  • At minimum, we include the first distemper combination vaccine and deworming treatment.
  • In addition, many of our pets for adoption are already altered, fully vaccinated and micro chipped, so please ask us what has already been done when you find a pet you think you would like to adopt!
As part of our mission to prevent pet over-population, the shelter requires all animals to be altered before they are adopted. Though we have many animals that are already altered, we are financially unable to spay and neuter every animal. Therefore, if you have chosen an unaltered animal, the shelter will require you to prepay for their spay/neuter at the vet of your choice prior to adoption (if they are a dog) or, if the animal is a cat, CHA will charge a $50 spay/neuter deposit at the time of adoption, which will be refunded once proof of the spay/neuter has been presented. The fees to alter the animal at the chosen veterinarian are at the expense of the adopter and are to be paid to the veterinary provider.
