A Message from the Board President

Dear Friends of the Chippewa Humane Association:

This has truly been one of the most challenging years for all of us. We have had to close to drop-in visits from the public and are instead encouraging those looking for new fur family to review our adoptable pets, put in an application, and then make an appointment to meet the eligible companions at our facility. We are delighted that we have safely re-homed fifty cats and dogs just in June alone!

YOUR DONATIONS AND HELP REMAIN ESSENTIAL in this time of COVID-19!
You can help us ride out these uncertain times... and help fur friends like Big Hoss and Peach.

Big Hoss is a Great Pyrenees Mix that came to us as a stray. The minute he walked in the door, staff recognized him as a dog that was being tossed around on Facebook for free, which is a risky way to find homes for pets. We did not find his owner. His coat was so full of mats and debris that it was necessary to sedate him and shave him to alleviate his pain. We also found that he had a genetic abnormality and needed surgery on both of his eyelids (common for his breed). Hoss weighed just under 100 pounds at intake and is now a healthy 125 pounds. He is healed from his surgery and now ready for his new home.
Peach came to Chippewa Humane in May, very pregnant and very scared. As staff worked carefully and gently with her, she warmed up and was soon moved to a foster home to have her kittens. She had five beautiful kittens and a sixth singleton with no family was added 10 days later. He immediately became a full member of the family as Peach groomed and cared for him! Peach loves attention and will make a great pet.

Things could have been very different for them! It's a happy ending that you can continue to help make possible. Your gift can save a life and provide a loving companion for another person in the future. Click the button below to learn how you can provide a gift of $10, $25, $50, or even $100 that will support Chippewa Humane in this important cause.
