HAPPY TAILS
Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know how my first couple of days went in my new home.

First of all the drive there was very long. I tried really hard to stay awake and see everything but I was just not able. I fell asleep about after about 45 min’s. Once I got there I did get a little scared when my new human opened the back door of the SUV to let me out. Everything was so new and different, but my new human sat down next to me and gave me time to get my nerve up. After a couple of minutes I came and sat by her and she knew I was now ready to check everything out. Abby also helped, she showed me all around my new house (so many new smells it was great!!!). Abby did grow at me once when she was showing me her toys, I was not going to take it only smell it, but I was very good and backed off. My new human said she was going to put the toys up on a shelve for a couple of days, although she really did not need to because later on Saturday Abby went and took one of the toys and was playing with it and when I walked pass she did not even care.
So anyway once I checked out the house we went outside. First I was attached by a giant (I mean giant) grasshopper. Abby laughed at me went I jumped at that. Then I got to meet all of the cats. There is one older cat that pretty much rules the place. Abby told me to just ignore her and she will pretty much ignore me, so that is what I did. The other 3 cats are real nice. It did not take much more then a couple of hours and they were rubbing up against me and purring. They do get a little concerned when I come running up to them, but then if I just slow down and walk up to them they are fine.
The horses are a different matter. They are sooo big. I tried to be brave when I first met them but I have to admit I was scared. But Abby went right up to them and so I figured if Abby could do it so could I. Ok, so maybe I did not get right up to them but I did get really close. And I will get even closer in a few days (I would not want to do too much too fast).
Yesterday we (Abby, my human and I) went for a walk out in the horse pasture. That was fun. The wild flowers out there are taller them I am. And there are these cool paths that the horse have made that we followed. I liked doing that and my new human said I walked very well on the leash, I did not pull much at all. And I was NOT scared at all. But I do have to tell you by the end of the day yesterday I was so exhausted. I am not use to staying up so later past sundown and here at my new house apparently they do.
Anyway I just wanted to let everyone there know I am doing great!!! I am being so brave and you all would be really proud of me. I want to thank you all of helping me and caring for me for so long. I will miss you but I know I will be really happy here and I know Abby and I will become the best of friends.
Thank you again. And oh ya, my new human says Thank you too.

Cooper (Known as Martin at the shelter)

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to let you all know that Cooper is adjusting really well to his new home. He’s managed to make himself quite comfortable in his new doggie beds (he has two…one upstairs and one downstairs). We’ve gone for long walks in the park and the only animals not safe around him are squirrels and birds. He seems to get confused with blowing leaves too (especially today when it was so windy) and often wants to chase after them. He loves riding in the car and he stretches out from one door to the other on the back seat. I still haven’t heard him bark so I’m waiting patiently to see what he sounds like. He has the run of the house after he cleverly escaped over the gates in the kitchen but he knows he’s not allowed on any furniture except the sofa which you see in the photo. I do know however that he found his way onto my bed one day when I was gone because there were paw indentations in the comforter from one end to the other. I keep the door closed now. J
Adopting him has been such a gift to me and he’s become a huge part of my life in a very short time. Thank you for all the hard work you’ve done training him and making him the best dog I could possibly ask for.

Hey everyone, can you believe it's been so long since since we picked Buck up? He is so smart. He already knows alot of tricks, including tease. He loves playing fetch, swimming in his pool and going on walks. He now has siblings, 2 cats. He loves playing and sleeping with them. But sometimes he is a tattle tail... especially if the cats are on the counter. He loves to be pet and will sit for hours. He doesn't like the dark or storms but that's ok because the cats don't either.
Hope everyone is doing well over there,
Love Buck, Porky, Monster, Kristin and Matt |

CCHA:
Thought you might like to see a couple of photos of 2 of your former
residents. They appear to be enjoying life here on the farm. Q Ball &
Stella are getting along well with each other. Stella wants to play
but Q Ball prefers a more relaxed existence. Q Ball gets to go
outdoors and he loves to follow Ed around wherever he goes. He also
makes sure that Ed gets up at 4:30 AM to let him out for his morning
hunt. The only thing he seems to be able to catch is rabbits which is
fine with us as they chew everything in the garden. Stella is quite
reserved and does not enjoy having visitors. She heads for under the
bed or some other secluded spot. They are both great cats! I took the
pictures on my phone so if they won't open for you, let me know and
I'll take some pictures on my digital camera. Brynda & Ed |

Hello!
Moby is doing well! He seems to have taken a liking to his new home. He's claimed his spot on the couch and gets plenty of petting from us all.
I attached a few pictures. Hope you enjoy!
Thanks for passing on this adorable cat to us!

Hello all...
Just wanted to let you know the snowballs are doing great!
They have new names...Joey (Brokey Tail) the Lilac Point and Charlie (Newton) the Chocolate Point and do respond to them. They settled in as soon as they got here and have lots of toys, window shelves and good food.
They play together alot and cuddle and clean, but wrestling matches and chasing, of course this when not napping, which they love to do.
Some hairball issues still, but got them on some lubricants for it and daily brushings and it is toned down immensely, and they really do not shed much at all.
I have a few pictures to send, not the best, but will attach them...thank you all so much for letting me know they came back so I had the chance to bring them home to enjoy.
Much luck to all your animals to find their forever homes!
God bless,
Jane Boyle |

Greetings from Piper,
I just wanted to let you know that I am adjusting very well to my new home and family. These pictures are from when I first arrived here just about a month ago. Since then I've been growing and keeping my family busy. I was just at the vet for the second time last week to get a few booster shots and am already up to about 26 pounds. This week my family found one of the first puppy teeth I lost. We go on lots of walks together and play a lot. It's pretty clear that my family loves me and I love them too! Thanks for helping to bring us all together!
Your friend, Piper

Wow do I have a Happy Tail for you!
Everything happens for a reason. I did not walk in that day to the Humane Association in plans of adopting a new member of our family. I walked in to do some businesses for work. As I walked through looking at the animals that are in such a need for a home, I saw this guy in his cage looking at me with the most innocent of eyes. He stole my heart in one simple glance and I know I did the same for him. I went home that day and for about two weeks could not shake him from my thoughts. It even disrupted my sleep a bit. With a lot of discussion I talked my husband into going to meet him. As I anticipated, my husband fell in love, too! And so began the new journey of love, laughter and forever companionship with Static the American Staffordshire terrier! Despite the negative media that the bully breeds receive I am a firm believer in the deed not the breed! It hurts me to hear negative comments coming from the shallowest minded people who are not open enough to see these dogs need a chance to be understood! I hope my story of joy will help others see that these dogs are wonderful and should not be looked at as less than that!
I am so thankful for the gift we received this summer… Static! Static instantly adapted well to his new home and his new children. We were not so sure how the transition would be coming from a rough past life and then having the safe place of the CCHA. He rode home in the car silent and watching our every move. We got home and let him look around and scope out the territory. He took right to the house and made himself at home much faster than I expected. I also was concerned how he would adjust to having five new children. It is hard for people to adjust even to spending time at our house considering how busy and noisy it can be at times. Static was remarkable and loved his new children the minute he laid his eye’s on them. Since that warm day in July; Static has been an important piece to our crazy family puzzle! I am not real certain how we came so far in life without him. Static does not bark…I thought for a bit that maybe he thought he would be in big trouble if he barked…I learned quickly that he knows how beautiful and poised he is (I believe he thinks he is above the barking matters). The only time our hunk gets vocal is if we play tug-o-war, than he has a funny gurgle as the kids call it. He is so good on a leash that even the 9 year old can take him out to go potty and on walks. He listens so well that I have decided he is far better behaved than the childrenJ! He is a caboose and follows us all over the house. He does not like to be in a room alone. During cuddle time, the closer to being on top of you, the happier he is. He sleeps every night curled up with his babies and they beg to sleep with him. We have alternated who he sleeps with to keep everyone happy! Static even as I call it “baby sits” us. I go to work out on my Elliptical and he lay’s in his bed watching ever so faithfully. I really wish I knew what he was thinking when he does that…I am sure he thinks I look mighty silly as I sing and sweat. Static is a really remarkable dog and we love him with all our hearts!

Dear Chippewa County Humane Association,
I just wanted to send you a thank you for our puppy that we got from you a little over a year ago. I thought you might enjoy a follow up. Last April we got "Shortcake" from you, we renamed her Claire. She was there with her mom and two brothers at the shelter. She is still a tiny little puppy (weighing only 4 1/2 lbs) but was the most absolutely perfect addition to our family. Her and our other dog Tootsie are inseparable.

I dont know how either one of them made it without each other before. She loves to snuggle right up to Tootsie and sit on top of her. She is a spoiled little girl with a toybox filled with toys and a king size bed to snuggle in. She has taking a liking to digging out rocks from the water and also loves camping and car rides. She is a smart girl and has so much energy and love. I just wanted to thank you for choosing us and let you know how grateful we are and how wonderful she is doing with us. Our little Claire Bear is a happy girl! :)

I apologize for taking so long to let you know how "BobCat" is doing in his
new home in Milwaukee.
We were quite happy to find that he is a music lover. On the 4 hour drive
home, when there was no music on the radio, he "sang" to fill the gaps. When
music WAS on, he rested quietly.
He was kept in a Saint Bernard sized crate for the first 2 days to let him
and Farrah (our formally feral, spayed female) get used to each other. The
3rd day he was allowed full run of the house after showing him where the
litter boxes were. (hasn't had an accident yet) He was very interested in
playing with Farrah who, unfortunately, decided to be a total witch. He is
the most unbelievably non agressive cat I have ever seen. As Farrah was
growling, hissing, and spitting at him, he continued to gaze at her
adoringly like he was asking what was wrong and what he could do to help. 2
days later they were best buds.
As they now run laps together multiple times per day he has trimmed down a
bit and now has a soft, glossy coat. HOWEVER he has proven to be not too
bright and now answers to the name of "Bubba".
He is just a great cat and all of our friends threaten (jokingly) to steal
him from us.
Needless to say, that's not going to happen.
I will try to attach 1 or 2 pictures of the "partners in crime".
Thanks for allowing us to adopt such a great new family member.

Dear Chippewa County Humane Society,
I wanted to update you on our cat that we adopted from you! She was featured at Pet Smart in Eau Claire. Dafney is doing fantastic! She loves to tease our two dogs and play with the laser dot! She is a snuggler as well; Dafney sleeps on our pillows at night and purrs us to sleep along with batting my hair around! My husband is learning to keep the toilet seat down because she loves to play with water! Oh yes, splashes around in the toilet, the shower (while your in there!) and the water bowl! We want to say thank you for letting us adopt Dafney, for she is another one of our kids! I have attached a few photos of her ejoying her new life at our house!
We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We have all of the critters in our prays to be adopted soon!
Love Always,
The Unser's ( Matt, Danielle, Dafney, Dozer, Cricket, Johnny, Yogi, and Maiden)

Dear CCHA Family,
My new owners thought I should write to my CCHA family to let them know how I am doing. Since I have left you guys 3 weeks ago I have gotten spayed and I got a certificate from the vet saying I am a brave girl. I go on lots of car rides, I go on 2~3 walks a day. I love treats and I have learned to Sit, Shake, Leave it ( they even torture me by putting a treat on my nose and telling me to leave it), Lay and stop. I have a special bed at the foot of my big owners bed were I sleep all night long. They tell me it is night night time and I go straight to bed. Since being here I have had one accident in the house and that was my second day here but my new mommy said it was ok and no biggie rugs are washable. My daddy takes me on long walks and than after words we wrestle in the yard. Than my mommy takes me on a long walk with a friend of hers and her little weiner dog who I want to chase but I am learning to walk nice on that walk. When it is just me and the whole family I walk really good I always stay along side or a little behind or a little ahead. My new little people in my life sure love to hug and kiss and pet me alot. I have chewed on a few dolls which I know is naughty but i can't help myself they are sooo chewy. So my mommy went and bought me a new nylon bone which I love. I wasn't so sure on all these toys that were here for me when I got here but I am starting to like them. I even got a new pink collar. Mommy says I need some with bling though. I am a pretty quite girl daddy has only heard me bark once and mommy maybe 4 times. I don't even bark at the annoying little neighbor dog I have who barks at me non stop. I just ignore it.
I got to go and get a Christmas tree with my family and I did really good. I got to ride a hay wagon and sniff tons of trees till we found the perfect one. Than my little people helped daddy cut it down. Than we dragged it back and rode the wagon ride back. I even got my picture taken with my new family in front of it. I even over heard mommy and daddy saying that I would be getting a stocking filled with toys for Christmas.
My mommy and daddy keep telling me I am such a good girl and how lucky they are to have me. How they feel I was meant to be from God. I mean I was with you guys for a while and they can't figure out why I wasn't adopted sooner. They are happy I wasn't and I am too. My tail wags non stop so I am a very happy girl. I love to give my new family lots of kisses and I follow mommy all over the house. The first time she left I cried and cried but daddy and my little people told me she would be back. She was a few hours later she only went to bible study.
Well my new family says to say thankyou for taking good care of me she is very grateful to have found me. I am attaching a picture of me and my family at the tree farm and one of me and my daddy on the wagon ride. I would love to hear back that you got my email.
Lots of woofs and kisses!!!!
~ Wendy
